a remote desktop deployment does not exist in server pool. To create deployment, run add and remove features

when I go to server manager and select remote desktop services I get this message "a remote desktop deployment does not exist in server pool. To create deployment, run add and remove features". this client server was configured by another tech who has been fired. I have purchased RDP license's and added them to the licensing manager. I did add features and im still getting this message. I removed RDP then I reinstalled it and im still getting the same message. any advice on what to do?

Hi,

It could be incorrect server entry in DNS. Could verify the records in DNS and see the host name and IP matches correctly. If you found any difference, change it and reboot the server. Check the issue and see it works?

To manage RDS via server managers you must have a server with the RDCB role in your pool. RDCB in 2012 is where you configure and manage RDS deployments. It sounds like you installed RDSH role manually instead of using the scenario wizard option.
