Changing a BackupExec Server without losing anything.

Hi,

Is it possible to migrate a BackupExec 14 or 15 installation to a new server with a different name and/or domain and keep all the backup history available?

For example, our plan was to detach the disks where the backup data is located and re-attach them on the new server.

Once this is done, is there a way to install BckupExec and "import" all the backup history from the original server?

Thanks in advance.

Sure.   You'll want to back up your backup catalog and then import that into the new environment.  If you don't bring the catalog or history into the new BE instance, you'll have to re catalog everything, which can be a time-consuming process.
