rsync error

We are experiencing bunch of errors on our linux rsync servers. Bunch of clients connect to it to grab the latest data

Apr 17 13:44:45 rsyncserv xinetd[16872]: EXIT: rsync status=12 pid=17650 duration=0(sec)
Apr 17 13:44:48 rsyncserv xinetd[16872]: START: rsync pid=17651 from=192.168.5.3
Apr 17 13:44:48 rsyncserv rsyncd[17651]: connect from load-balancer.domain (192.168.5.3)
Apr 17 13:44:48 rsyncserv rsyncd[17651]: rsync: read error: Connection reset by peer (104)
Apr 17 13:44:48 rsyncserv rsyncd[17651]: rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(614) [receiver=2.6.8]
Apr 17 13:44:48 rsyncserv xinetd[16872]: EXIT: rsync status=12 pid=17651 duration=0(sec)

Then we are getting this on our cron job emails:

rsync: read error: Connection reset by peer (104)
rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(759) [receiver=3.0.6]

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Have you rebooted your machine, and restarted rsync on the server?

We never reboot the server. Rsync is running under xinetd. Don't think its a good idea to restart xinetd right?

rsync 873/tcp # rsync
rsync 873/udp # rsync

I see there's a load balancer, is there any error on the balancer?

Is there any firewall between rsync server and clients? Is iptables enabled on the rsync server?

This you tried to run rsync in verbose?
        -v, --verbose increase verbosity

It appears the issue came from the load balancer server. Not sure what's doing it.
