Xerox 4500 Phaser Printer
My OS is win 7 prof 64 bit and I have the above printer. The printing has always been a pain. The tray is selected from tray 2 which is the bottom tray and the big one. Everytime I set to print, the paper, although from a new box, seems to not go thru the rollers all the way and print the job. sometimes, it just stops half way, and I see on the lcd screen that it is the paper jam. When I clear that paper, and try to continue to print, the same thing happens. I tried to set the paper selection from tray 1, which is the smaller sized tray, from the preferences in printer and devices but still I cannot get it to print.
is there any printer diagnostic program somewhere where I can test if everything is connected ok, or possibly reinstall the printer driver again completely. Thank u.

thank u John for the suggestion, I will give it a try, but meanwhile, Is there any spray for the rollers to rejuvernate them, most probably the rollers have lost their lustre.

in response to John, the 20 lbs paper stock, did not work. So it looks like the rollers, let me see if I can clean it with some alcohol. thank u.
Thanks for the update. If cleaning the rollers does not help, then you need to get it serviced.

Try using a different weight of paper. 24 pound paper is common. Try 20 pound paper. This is what I use in my HP printer.
