Windows Server Standard 2012 R2

Hi All,

I am new to Server Standard 2012 and am having an issue with an internal software.  I realized that the machine (in server manager) has an ip of (link local).

I am thinking this is the issue.  I don't see this IP when I do a ipconfig /all, how can I find out where the IP is being stored? How can I remove it???

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

169.254.x.x isn't new. That is an APIPA address which happens when an active NIC failed to get an address any other way (static or DHCP.) You either have a NIC that needs to be disabled or you have a miaconfigured NIC/network.
