Napp-it free, snapshot deletion automation. How to create a retention policy?

Hi guys,

I am having to regularly mass delete snapshots as the volume space is used up,  I have searched several forums but not found how to enable auto deletion of snapshots based upon percentage of volume space left. However, what would be best if I could enable an option to automatically delete snapshots based on a retention policy, say one month.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks , Ben

I am sure you can code a script that uses a combination of "zfs list  -o space" and "zfs list -r -t snapshot -o name, creation" to figure out the % used and which "oldest" snapshots to remove.

And schedule it with crontab.
