I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Maybe the film has been removed or was never there in the first place?
Can you verify your question?
Dr. KlahnPrincipal Software EngineerCommented:
The laptop manufacturer places a protective film over the screen so that there is no damage in transit.

That film is applied by the laptop manufacturer, not the screen module manufacturer.  The film is sized so that it fits inside the screen's bezel without going underneath; this is necessary so that the film can be peeled by the customer.  A replacement screen module generally does not have protective film.

Our text conversation:
Me: do the replacement screens have a protective plastic film that can be removed?
Rick: hello, sometimes they will have one applied directly to the surface
Me: But not always?
Rick: As we receive our screen direct from manufacturers each one is different, sometimes there is a film and sometimes not
Me: Thanks you have answered my question. bye
Rick: You are welcome goodbye
