I am looking to go through a document, and find the ___ most common two letters in a set of words. <br />

Lets say that I have a large document, and I want to find the 20 most common two letter pairs that start a word for the document. I am trying to figure out how to tally up and then report on the first two letters. <br />
<br />
So if the document was:<br />
Apple Appear Dog<br />
<br />
The results would be:<br />
ap 2<br />
do 1<br />
<br />
Anyone know how to do a quick sorting like that?
