Public Folders

Good day,

I have a 2007 exchange server i want to decomission but I dont want to before public folder config is correct. It has been replaced with a 2013 server. There was no public folders on the 2007 server therefore i have done no public folder migration.

However when i look at connection status of the outlook client it looks at the 2007 server for public folders. What command can i run at a organisational level to update clients look at the new server for public folders. We will definetely be using them going forward.

Configure the mailbox databases to specify the default public folder server/mailbox. The PFName should point to a Public Folder on Exchange 2013.

To change Public folder:
Set-MailboxDatabase -Identity dbname -PublicFolderDatabase pfname

To create a public folder on EX2013:
New-Mailbox mypublicfolder -Database dbname  -PublicFolder
