In PPT, I can easily add a rectangle to my slide

What if I want to get a shape that is perfectly square (all 4 sides of equal length) to my slide.

How can I do that, what path should I take?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

When you click on the rectangle tool then click on the slide (don't drag, just click), you'll get a perfect square. To resize it and keep the aspect ratio, press SHIFT while you drag a corner.

Or you can click the rectangle tool in the gallery, then press SHIFT while you drag to draw the rectangle on the slide. Pressing SHIFT while you're drawing it will constrain the aspect to a square.
