Any issue with having a 2003 and 2012 DC?
Have a customer with a 2003 DC (2000 functional level) and want to get a 2012 R2 DC in the mix. Know I need to get it to a 2003 functional level, adprep, etc etc. Is there any issue with having the 2003 DC in there while the other services are migrated to other machines?
I can only imagine that is not an issue, just can't raise the functional level any further.

no; a 2012 R2 domain controller will work fine with an existing 2003 domain
but, as you are already aware, your domain and forest functional levels need to be at 2003 first
can you be more specific as to what services?

I can keep the 2003 DC for a few months?
Devs need to move a web site, few other apps.

As aroddick has alluded. There is no problem with running 2003 and 2012 side-by-side for any length of time.
