OTRS stopped creating notifications

Dear Experts,
Our OTRS ticketing system stopped generating automatic notifications for new tickets recently. As a work around, we are manually using the ‘Fetch mail option’ under Admin -> Postmaster Mail account to get ‘new tickets’ and ‘follow-ups on existing tickets’.  
Below are the version details.  Could you please advise on the resources for Troubleshooting on this regard? Thank you very much.
OTRS version 3.0.5
Jumpbox version 1.6.2

I was able to resolve this. It was a disk space issue. Removed some old backup files from   /var/data/backup folder
