Ideally should be using a sonicwall(or similar type of FW) along with sonicwall vpn client or sonic wall ssl netextender. This kind of stuff is pretty outdated.

Has this ever worked before?

What are you using as the default gateway for the site? whats the device make and model?

Hi Billy,

As a result of not having the sonicwall devices we are stuck with the old way of connecting our users through VPN. Can you please elaborate on the default gateway for the site? and the device make and model?

On the network what is the endpoint is it just an ISP router? How are people connecting to the server for example I have a network in my home if I am connecting remotely using this system this would be my path.

My House PC -> My House Router(My house default gateway fwiw) -> Internet -> My Companys Firewall(this is the default gateway im looking for you to provide in your instance the device forwarding vpn traffic to the server) -> Windows VPN Server -> User connected and authenticated.

Ok here goes:

My House PC -> My House Router(Vodacom 3G) -> Internet -> My Companys Firewall(Netgear device(Local gateway)) -> Windows VPN Server (Windows small business Server 2011 standard) -> User connected and authenticated (Using the Administrator account and yes it has all necessary permissions/access)

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

There are some remote dial in groups in SBS AD I know this from seeing it in action a few times please ensure the user account is a member of these groups.

If the administrator account is working and a user account is not which I think you described above it has to be a group membership or AD setting stopping this, can you check both accounts group membership and settings?

Can you VPN to the server locally onsite using these credentials? I am pretty sure we wont be able to if its membership or setting issue on the account.

Mark,

Thanks, I had to verify the Administrator account was permitted in SBS AD group and had to change the authentication method for the other as it is on the server.

Thank you for your help.

There is a situation where, User A shared their calendar with User B. When you log onto their email accounts using OWA, User B is able to see User A's calendar under shared calendars. When you setup the accounts on a Windows Microsoft platform same happens, the calendar sharing takes place, no issues.

User B, uses a Mac OS x 10.9, running outlook for mac 2011 (Version 14.4.9), The calendar sharing on the mac platform does not happen , the user cannot see the shared calendar.

Is there anything I am missing perhaps?
