Need to change home directory for installing a program

I have a citrix server that Im trying to install some software on for a sigpad, when the install runs it installs to the U drive for the user which is the home drive I need to install to the C drive but the software doesn't allow me to change where it installs to. How can I change what the home dir is for the user? I had to do this a long time ago and I cant seem to find where to do that at

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
Look in ProfileImagePath for the user's name (it will be something like U:\Users\username).
Modify the key to point to C:\somefolder. Reboot.

Make a snapshot/restore point before, in case things go south.

In AD Computers and Users each users home directory can be set in the "profile" Tab of each user; another place it may be setup is in group policy. With the introduction of Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 there is now a new group policy setting called “Set user home folder” and is found under Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > System > User Profiles.

OK but is it set in both place or just in the users' tabs?

Can you create a NEW test user, sat test1 and set it up with a local home drive C:\SomeWhere and see if that affects where the app tries to install--if it still tries for U then there must be something in the APP looking for a U drive.
