WSUS clients wuauclt

Hi Experts,

I'm implementing WSUS in my network. Everything seem to work fine.

I need a way to let the clients detect the available updates on the WSUS server. I know it can be done with the command wuauclt.exe /detectnow. What would be a good way to push this command from a remote pc to all the clients in the netwerk?

Anyone knows wat the other wuauclt switches do? /resetauthorization and /reportnow?

The switches are documented here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc708617%28v=ws.10%29.aspx and https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc720477(WS.10) (if you would want to call that documentation, Microsoft).

To provoke network wide detection, use this nice AD addon for free: specops gpupdate

Thanks, i configured the gpo;

Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Update -> Automatic Updates detection frequency
The computers contact wsus every 22 hours by default and also each time they start.
So if you needed a solution on how to manually invoke additional detections (it sounded like this, because If you didn't look for this, you wouldn't need to do anything ). I provided the way. Also you asked for documentation of the wuauclt switches and I provided that also. But the points go to the others. Can you explain, please?
mcknife you need to up your game son looking at it objectively I felt you deserved nothing. the 2 points made by the other posters are all that is needed on a corporate network wsus solution you should have known this you had the chance to take the 500. he mentioned he was on a corporate network...
just reread this again mcknife it is not best practice or anything like it to do what the asker wanted to do. you as the expert need to see this and advice accordingly.

1. go
2. computer groups
3. testing updates
gpo sorry

@McKnife

At first i installed specops as you mentioned. After testing it i was not very happy with it. This wasn't  the solution i was looking for. I'm not a big fan of 3th party tools when it comes to Active Directory anyway.

It was dstewartjr that pointed me in the right direction. I didn't know the default detection time was 22 hours. And when i red this could be modified, i went looking for that specific GPO.

I marked Mark Bill's answer as an assisted solution because i think his information is very usefull.

So please don't get me wrong here. I really thought about it before i marked the answers that worked for me! Hope you'll help me on my next question mcknife....
Funny. The question went: "What would be a good way to push this command from a remote pc to all the clients in the network?" - so explicitely, the question was about invoking it from remote. This is what I was addressing, just like with the wuauclt switches. And that's all I question. Folks, why bother, if it was something else he was looking for, then yes, the question might have be asked a little misleading.

But I don't care. This is about helping and not about competition. SvenIA: I don't get you wrong, see you soon. And Mark: thanks for the kind words :)
mcknife, your clearly about the competition lol. you tried to jump in on another question that was being adequately answered and now you question who the guy awards points too? nice act though ill give you that. peace bro.
I actually wouldn't jump in on any question being answered by another expert and try to steal points. GL man.
