Change iPhone 5 Apple ID - Restore iCloud data

Changing Apple ID on iPhone 5 iOS 8.3 warns of deleting photos - can they be restored?

Process is this: change spouse iPhone 5 Apple ID to my iPhone 5S Apple ID so Find My Phone will work finding both phones. Get warning spouse iPhone will lose iCloud data (photos in particular). Can this be prevented - or spouse iPhone iCloud data be relinked?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Please turn find my phone off on both phones before doing this, turn it back on when your done.

Iphone A = old iphone, Iphone B = new iphone , log into it and do a backup to Icloud backup as much as you can within the account, then connect the Iphone A to a computer that has itunes installed preferebly the computer it was configured with if not click top left and add the computer as a management station for Iphone A proceed to take a full backup of Iphone A. Take a full backup of Iphone B too.

Now your good to go.

Start Iphone B in recovery mode and restore it to factory settings you do this by powering on whilst holding the Home button then connect to Itunes. Restore Iphone A backup to Iphone B this should eliminate the Icloud restore and keep Icloud as a secondary backup.

Hope this helps. M

Thanks for your response, also read about Family sharing. Does not seem clear about sharing iCloud data, seems only applicable to purchased items - can you speak to this?

"Now collecting and sharing family memories is easier and more fun. When Family Sharing is turned on, a shared album is set up automatically in the Photos app on all family members’ devices. Then everyone can add photos, videos, and comments to the album and be notified when something new is added.

I think its more simple to keep things on individual phones, the practice ive listed above for you will give you the skills to do this. If your really interested in using this give it a try never be scared of technology.
