I have set up a VPN service (Private Internet Access) using my Windows 7 PC. &nbsp;All seems to be well; WHOAMI reports random IP addresses each launch time. &nbsp;I also have a ubuntu machine on the same LAN. &nbsp;I connect to is using TightVNC. &nbsp;If I log into the ubuntu machine, then launch a browser from that machine, is it also via the VPN, or do I need to make a separate VPN installation on it?

Does VPN have to be active on every machine in my LAN?

A virtual private network (VPN) is a network that uses a public telecommunication infrastructure, such as the Internet, to provide remote offices or travelling users access to a central organizational network securely. VPNs encapsulate data transfers using secure cryptographic methods and other security mechanisms to ensure that only authorized users can access the network and that the data cannot be intercepted.
