SQL 2012 evaluation expired

I have a massive problem. The SQL version i installed with my SCCM was in evaluation mode and now it has expired. I am now unable to connect to the SCCM console. I have tried to find a key from the VLS site but all available SQL version do not have a key associated with them.

My question is, if i upgrade to SQL 2014 will this activate the or can i get an evaluation key from tech-net?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Is your database that large or can you just use SQL Express?

Look at the database file in your file system.  Database data file name ends in .mdf and log file ends in .ldf.  You need to look at the .mdf file for the size of the database.  If you are using SCCM, I would bit the bullet and install a full version of SQL.

IT Pros Agree: AI and Machine Learning Key

We’d all like to think our company’s data is well protected, but when you ask IT professionals they admit the data probably is not as safe as it could be.

Whatever you do you'll always need to install a new version of SQL Server (free or licensed one) since the evaluation period ended. The current SQL Server instance is useless. You can uninstall it and keep the databases to attach in the new SQL Server instance that you'll create.
