MPIO or Team for SAN Network

We currently setting up a new HP server to our backend SAN environment.

In the past on the older OS's we used to use the HP network teaming to team the network adaptors that link into our SAN network.

Looking into network teaming on Server 2012 most people are suggesting MPIO.

Which method is better to use. MPIO with the HP MPIO adapter installed or use Windows Server 2012 teaming option?

Could we use MPIO on the SAN side and Server 2012 teaming for the LAN side?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Using teaming for iSCSI traffic has never been a good idea. That isn't new in 2012. Use MPIO. And yes, you can use MPIO on the SAN side and NIC teaming with your LAN adapters.
