Outlook email and smartphone mail not synched and OST name is email address

One of our users reported that his Outlook email was not synchronized with the email on his iphone, particularly the SENT items and items that he deleted. One of the things I noticed was that his OST file was named with his email address. None of our other users' OST files are named with their email addresses, but they are named whatever the email profile is named, which is usually their network username. I tried a new Windows profile as well as new Outlook profiles. I don't actually know if this will fix his sync problem, but it's the only thing I see that is different from the other users.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

since you are using exchange, delete users mail account on iPhone and redo. Chances are user has set it to download too much email and the iPhone memory is full.  By deleting and redoing mail on phone and then seeing it to sync 2-4 weeks,  you will probably solve the problem. BTW, all our users' accounts ' ost files are named with their email followed by the ost extension NOT their AD creds.

Removing the account and re-adding it helped the problem. I don't think my observation of the ost files having the email address name was relevant. Thanks for your help.
