Outlook Email

I have a computer running Outlook 2007 on a Windows 7 operating system.  I also just got an Apple iPhone 6.  My email account is with AOL.  I just tried setting up my Outlook to get my email.  As soon as the Outlook email was set up, my emails disappeared from both my phone and the AOL online server.  I need to be able to access my email online, as well as on my phone.  Please help.
