How Can I Get A Back Button To Work On My Website?

.I have a hyperlink on a page in my website that goes to a page in another website that we maintain. The hyperlink open the page in a "tab". The only way to "Go Back" is to close the tab.
I tried using the following code but this does not work. Go Back

Is it a browser issue? Or is it because the page opens in a tab?

is there a way to get the back button to work?

Thank you...

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can only go "Back" in the same window or tab that you are currently in. That is normal operation. You could use "window.close()" instead to close the current tab or window.
