I am receving the following error from my web config
It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level.  This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.

Hi,

You have multiple web.config files in your application.
So convert the folder which is having the second web.config file as Application.

Right-Click on the folder and Click Convert to Application.
