DAG Replication need to pause

Hello Expert,

I have two Exchange sites with exchange 2013 Cu6 on both sites. I have DAG setup and close to 50 DB with 1.5 TB Database data. Second site , we have configure just 2 weeks back and replicated all the DB from Primary site to Secondary site. Due to this DAG continues replication, My mpls bandwidth utilized fully hence want to pause this replication for 2 days. However, on Saturday, i am going to make my secondary site is primary and primary site going to process for decommission.i would like to know is there any best practices to stop the replication and enable it later on.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The two cmdlets that apply here are:

You can read more about the overall process (and how to do this from the GUI) at the page Suspend or resume a mailbox database copy

You can further automate the process by using one of the cmdlets like Get-MailboxDatabase to feed a list of databases to the MailboxDatabaseCopy cmdlets.

There's always a question of how long you can suspend the copy before something breaks or you end up needing to re-seed the database. If you have sufficient log space available, it's likely you can resume after two days -- we went at least that long during an extended power outage with an Exchange 2010 setup.
