Moving Site & SSL

I need to move / migrate a site to a different hosting company.

The site has two sub domains, and one of those has an SSL cert installed.

Do i need to re-issue the cert after the move?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

No.  As long as you have the private and public keys, and install them appropriately on the destination server, it will work exactly the same.

As long as the SSL cert subject name matches the new site's hosted domain still, the cert can be reused. But you need to ensure the Root cert and cert bundle (inclusive all intermediate cert) are installed at the site and the private key for your own SSL cert is installed as well. If previously you have the keys (or make exportable), it should be able to port over to the new site.

Likewise do it the same if you have proxy before the web server if that is your configuration - in  other words, any host that will response to HTTPS at the first client instance should hold the SSL cert/keys.
