Server 2008 R2 Ent Print Spool Randomly Locks Up
Hello,
Been fighting this for sometime to no avail... We have a single Windows Server 2008R2 Ent ed print server with 71 shared printers on it, was running fine until I changed several GPO to map the printers to the computers not deloy by users. Its a school district and we had to many complaints about random printing etc....
After making that change, and updating a Savin 8060 MFP driver to their universal driver the spool will randomly stall and print manager will go unresponsive... I have gone through all the event logs and tried to find the coluprit but nothing,... the events I do see are as follows:
Event ID 808, The print spooler failed to load a plug-in module c:\windows\system32\spool\ drivers\x6 4\3\dldopt pc.dll error code 0x7e
I went into the Drivers in Print manager, and made them all ISOLATED to eliminate conflicting or bad drivers taking down spool service, but that did not work.
I also went into each printer and made sure they are all using winprint w/RAW for the print processor, still locking up
Any assistance would be great!
