"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

the option is to install hp insight manager (I think is the righ,t name) and use that to get the info.
Do you know whether ilom was configured on each, if so, that can be used to query the server for info without reboot and without interfering with its operation.

Then check the HP firmware update option and the means to deploy it.
Though a reboot is required to apply the firmware if updating raid controller firmware as well make sure whether the drivers need to be updated as well.
