Not taking Password to Wordpress site

Good Morning Experts,

I have an issue on my employers main website.

The website was moved to a new server.  I have not logged into the admin panel since.

The website is no longer taking the password.  The password was never changed, the website was just moved which is the only changed.

how can I reset the password?  We are hosting this website but I need to get into it.

I do not have any idea what the e-mail address is to use the "forgot password" feature and I do not have php admin.

Thank you,

Karen

I wear a lot of hats...

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It is often caused by a new line character in "siteurl" option in WordPress database.

Check in your WordPress database (using phpMyAdmin) in the table "wp_options", option "siteurl". If there is a blank line below siteurl, then delete that blank line.

This has been resolved.  I applied this fix:
Through FTP
There is also an easy way to reset your password via FTP, if you're using the admin user.

1. Login to your site via FTP and download your active theme's functions.php file.

2. Edit the file and add this code to it, right at the beginning, after the first <?php:

wp_set_password( 'password', 1 );
Put in your own new password for the main admin user. The "1" is the user ID number in the wp_users table.

3. Upload the modified file back to your site.

4. After you then are able to login, make sure to go back and remove that code. It will reset your password on every page load until you do.
