need help installing Management Service offline bundle for VMWare 5.5

I have a VMware bundle that I think will correct a memory leak issue we are having. I do not recall exactly how to install it. I have this link and am following the procedure.
https://h20566.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_b05d4c644fb742aa87cb5f5da1#tab3

I am on step 2 of the procedure;
"Transfer the offline bundle onto the ESXi host local path, or extract it onto an online depot."

How can I make that happen. I am logged into the Vsphere client. Is that where I need to be? I can also get into the ESXI host, but not even sure where to get to the command line to enter the commands in the following procedures. All advice welcome

You do not use the vSphere Client, but you do need to be in maintenance mode to apply the patch, and turn off all the VMs.

The procedure is outline in my EE Article, you will need to substitute the filenames for your file.

The procedure is exactly the same as the 5.1 to 5.5 upgrade.

first you will need to upload the Offline Update, using WinSCP to the Host Server, and then connect to the server using SSH remotely, or via the console.

the following articles, are also applicable to 5.5.
