exporting contacts

How do you export all contacts from outlook 2007 into a VCARD file I can import?  Do I have to export each 1 indivdually or can you do 1 export to 1 vcard and then import it into the program I need?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

There's no way to get all the contacts into a single VCARD file; each one will need its own. However, there is a way you can get them all exported at once.

1) Open your contacts.
2) Select all with ctrl+A
3) Right-click on them and choose the 'Send as Business Card' option.
-This will create an e-mail with all your contacts attached as VCARDs. It can take time to generate this e-mail, so you will need to be patient.
4) Select the attachments in this e-mail, and drag/drop them to a folder, zip file, etc. so that you can get them to your new machine.

Is there any paid software out there that can do this as a mass export?  I have an email program that has to import addresses as vcards.  I will have to do each of these individually?

No need to search for paid software. There is a free Export Contacts to vCard tool available. Just select source Outlook contact folders and specify the target directory. This utility will export all contacts found to .vcf files.
