Outlook Stopped working

Hello Everyone,

Outlook was working great ! All the my friend used to receive his email from Blue HOst directly in his Oultook an for many months he had no problem. No wit stopped working.  I check the settings with Blue Host and they are good, password and username are good because I was able to log in directly into the web base email. can someone help me to troubleshoot this issue please ?

he is running Office 2007 , on a Windows 7 machine 32 bit.

this is the error that I am receiving : Task 'manager@cbcondo.net - Sending' reported error (0x80042109) : 'Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

Sending' reported error (0x80042109) : 'Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server

Outlook cannot send mail and most likely the settings have changed.

Check (in the main setup screen) the Incoming and Outgoing address settings. These may have changed. Check with Blue Host.

Check in Advanced Settings, Outgoing server, that authentication is correct. They may require it where they did not before. Use the email address and password setting for this.

Check in the Ports setting that incoming is 995 / SSL (or what the ISP says) and Outgoing is 587 / SSL or 465 / TLS (again what the ISP says).  Ports may have changed for security reasons.

John I spend a few hours with BLue host we went line by line and still doesn't work. Just now only with the email and password I configure my friend email in my outlook and I was albe to configure in 3 minutes. so the problem is local, the problem is his machine. but can it be if blue host gave me the correct ports and setting. Also, it has been working great for month...then all the sudden it stopped...

OK, so then three things to try:

1. Back up the mail, close Outlook, and then go to Control Panel Mail. Delete the Outlook Profile, restart and set up a new Outlook Profile. This will make you set up a new account.

2. Set up a new, test, Windows User Profile (Account). Log in, set up Outlook and do a test. See if it works in a new Windows Profile. The user's current profile may be damaged.

3. Try an Outlook (Office) Repair from Control Panel. You can try this first, but Office Repair / Reinstall does not correct Profile damage. So if you repair first and that does not work in the user's current profile, then try the new Windows profile.

John thank you so much as usual...I found out what the issue was. Verizon did some upgrades and they blocked some ports in the Firewalls. I unblocked these ports and I was able to solve the problem.
