wondering if this help based on steps to "reset" instead...otherwise this is a support call or have to search through the admin common machine to access the central sole for asg, it may just be the case of the password is stored inside hist notepad or txt...http://forum.visionapp.com/showthread.php?tid=6123&pid=22572#pid22572

Nirsoft has a tool http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/remote_desktop_password.html for RDP
not that I understand it can be revealed though there is past stating maybe

maybe better or the forum support and call on to them instead as I doubt this is public info and something that can be shared openly

Nirsoft BulletsPassView -did not work
Nirsoft Remote Desktop PassView-did not work
Nirsoft Network Password Recovery- recovered one or two network passwords, but not the administrator password and only if it was stored on system for the current user.

If Nirsoft did not work, you probably cannot recover the passwords. So you have lost the passwords for 50 servers?? Is that true?
ASKER
Yes, lost over 50 passwords and I do not want to change the administrator password for fear of a cascade affect, so I'll start from scratch and set up new servers and gradually migrate everything.
Are you sure you cannot contact the prior administrator and get the info. This is bad news.
ASKER
He passed away, I didn't wont put that out there but that's what really happened. I have contacted a few consultants to help me thru it all, so we'll get thru it, he just didn't save that password anywhere but Ill keep you all posted.
thanks, indeed it is not poss if the tools shared is not viable as it means there is backdoor which it shouldn't. And since he has no backup or even wallet to safekeep his password - probably the SOP is to ensure recovery in event of non-presence

Yes, the practice was to simply store all backdoor company/management and administrator credentials to usb encrypted lockbox that would be stored in two different safe deposit boxes accosted two cities -box A and box B. We now see it's a practice that I apparently only adhered too.
In the passed, I was able image a server 2003 w/Exchange 2003, converted it to a vhd , mounted it in virtual box and then cycled thru potential password but in the lab/controlled environment, so I will revisit that option after I gain better control of the current situation, but that will be months from now.
Thanks

noted meanwhile let's us know if you chanced upon any findings ... thanks ... otherwise looks like beyond what can be done unless their tech suppt "really" has a mean to show and recover in your case..
ASKER
mounted vhd image but none of the potential passwords worked and no response from asg yet, still plugging at.
quite difficult then to recover then...

Yes, we/consultant team are mapping out a plan to migrate and upgrade to a hybrid office 365 and possibly azure environment since we have access to existing servers- the server count is closer to 70 now- I found more live virtuals
Thanks
Thanks
