SharePoint list search box does not return correct results

I have a SharePoint list and I am using a view to display on a page. I am using SharePoint 2013. I have a 100 records in the list, and I am using the search box that gets turned on with the webpart option. This list has 10 columns and about 100 records, but when I type in a text some text to search for a particular column, I get 6 wrong records.

I checked these records and the search string is not in those 6 records. I have done a full crawl and have deleted the 6 records and recreated them, but they still get returned as results when they are not supposed to.

Any ideas what could be going wrong?

Something is being matched. Is there any way to could provide the full row values and the search term?

Maybe filter those rows in a view and export to excel? Paste the rows from that?

The list has email addresses and staff names in. I will have to trim it down for security reasons.
That's reasonable. I'm just thinking that some string fragments may match somewhere in the data. The fact you recreate and still get hits support this idea.

Whats the search term and which rows match falsely?

I was searching the Division column.  Searching string would be PBTF.

Rows 12, 32, 33, 41, 76 and 61.

I should say rows 12, 32, 33, 41, 76 and 61 show up when you search for PBTF division.  These people are not in the PBTF division.

The problem is only with the search box for the view.  The column filter/data selectors work great and show accurate results. However, the search box does not.

We are planning to delete the list and start over.
