outlook macro to turn off automatic send receive

Is there a way to record macros in Outlook 2013?

If not, how can I write an outlook macro to turn off automatic send receive and assign it to an icon on the ribbon?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The following is a link that may get put you in the right direction:

Are you connecting to an Exchange server?  That appears to raise some issues.

Yeah, I tried that (macro ScheduledSendReceiveToggle), but it doesn't work for v. 2013.   It was written for v. 2003 and in 2013 it complains of variables not being set.

This is not using an exchange server.

Checked the code with O2010, and no issues. O2013 is not really different, AFAIK. Maybe posting the error message will help.
Sub ScheduledSendReceiveToggle()
Dim ctl As Office.CommandBarControl
  Set ctl = ActiveExplorer.CommandBars.FindControl(, 6867)
  If ctl.Enabled Then ctl.Execute
End Sub

Open in new window

As soon as that works, you can put a button in your Quick Launch bar. Modifying the Ribbons is a PITA.
