Datatable jQuery re-position

I have a datatable in screen 1 with columns 1-ID, 2-NAME and 3-ADDESS. The table has 87 records.

Upon clicking on a row, example row 34, user is directed to another screen (screen 2) where user can modify name or address.

After updating the database in screen 2 with name and address for record 34, I return to screen 1 and refresh the whole datatable (read database and re-populate datatable).

How do I re-position the datatable at row 34  ?

Hi,
what do you mean with " directed to another screen "?
Do you post/change the url? Or do you open a new window/tab? Or do you open a "popup"/dialog (e.g. using a div which get its content through an Ajax call)?
If you are redirecting between the screens, then I would suggest to add a querystring parameter and read that after your datatable init to position the correct page.
E.g.
Page 1 (complete table) -> redirect to Page 2 with ID and page parameter in url -> redirect to page 1 with id and/or page parameter

1) What development environment are you using?

2) How are you generating the "datatable"?

) What development environment are you using? -Coldfusion
2) How are you generating the "datatable"? Read database and write out HTML code
<cfloop query="qryContactInfo1">
      <tr>
            <td>#ciId#</td>
            <td>#ciName#</td>
            <td>#ciAddress#</td>
      </tr>
</cfloop>

@Ranier
I am doing exactly as what you are saying
Page 1 (complete table) -> redirect to Page 2 with ID and page parameter in url -> redirect to page 1 with id and/or page paramete
Which parameters must I pass back to the datatable in order to position it at the correct row ? SO, how must the JQUERY look loke ?
