VMAWARE 10.0 Network

Hi All

Please could you help me, I have two MIC in my machine. 1 is dedicated to my machine for day today stuff the other is dedicated to my VM environment.

The 2nd NIC card has an IP of 192.168.1.72  but all the VMS have different IP range and example of this would be 192.168.141.128 on all the VMS the third optic is 141 instead of .1

Any help would be appreciated.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What is your end goal.. keep the vm's separate from the host system (host only), only the host and the vm's (NAT) or available from everywhere (Bridged)?
Perhaps this Vmware Article might help you.

It looks like you've setup NAT (network address translation)

All 3 different network types have their own purpose.

I would like all my VMS to have the same address range as my network 192.168.1.** You are correct NAT is the only way I can get a connection to the internet.
David Johnson, CD, MVPOwnerCommented:
then select bridged and they will use your dhcp server to get a network address

I have tried bridge but then none of the VM's then get an IP!

Okay its now resolved, your article helped me. The virtual network was set incorrect so the bridge would have never have worked!  Thansk for the help :)
