Website gets redirected to a link which should not be there

I have two web servers websrv1 and websrv2
I have a http://website1/default on both webservers for load balancing.

I use to havea site http://website2/default on the servers I ahve deleted it from both te places

I had bookmarked my http://website2/default

I am testing this out on server1 by stopping server2
when i click on this bookmark for website2   It shows the address for website and goes to the link  http://website1/default

I am testing this out on server2 by stopping server1
when i click on this bookmark for website2   I get page not found as expected.

What could be the rason.

Any help would be appreciated.

I thought it could be code
so I copied the entire directory from webserver2 to webserver1

Still get the same thing. So it is not the code some IIS setting.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Check your dns perhaps try a tracert outside of your own computer

You may have domain2 aliased to domain1
I would like to know a bit more about your environment. What IIS version? Do you have any redirect/ rewrite rule on 1 server?

Please compare host header settings on both server. Server1 must be listening on all ips with no hostheader. Server 2 does not have this setting and must be configured to use certain hostheader, ip and port combination. This is the reason for this behavior.

Also, seems your redirection is being triggered from code.
One solution may be to export your settings from working server and import on other one (unless there are server specific settings).
