Brother All in One Printer losing network connectivity

We have a brother 8950 all in one device in which losers get disconnected from and they have to turn it off and back on all the time to reconnect.  I have it connected to a hub with an Hp printer and the HP printer always works when a user selects it to print.  I have the printer installed on a windows 2003 server and shared out.  It is only this Brother Printer that has an issue.  The users cannot see it as an option, until they turn off the printer and turn it back on.  Has anyone had any experiences with this type of issue?  All users are on windows 7 professional.

What happens if the HP Printer isn't connected to the hub at the same time as the brother printer? Have you tried connecting the brother printer to a different port in the hub? i would always recommend the use of a switch not a hub due to network traffic issues.

How often does the issue happen? Can you amend the sleep/hibernate settings on the printer itself to ensure it doesnt go to sleep?

The issue seems to be more at the hardware layer more than software.
I suggest using a switch instead of a hub, and then give the Brother Printer a STATIC IP on the network. It is probably changing it IP address which is why people lose the connection. This advice is good for all printers.

I do have a static ip address on the printer.  I have tried changing the port in the hub.  I will try a switch.

@joinaunion - I am sharing this printer on a windows 7.  It is the main printer that is used for an application running from the server, but I will make sure the network and printer discovery options are on the windows 7.  I believe it is because they have no issues with the HP.
You can also give the network repair tool a shot provided by brother.

Have you noticed if the printer is entering sleep mode? You may want to disable sleep function.Set to 0 on the printer LCD.

Not sharing the printer on a windows 7 - sharing the printer on a windows 2003 server
Sorry didn't see your post.
At work now but will look into the issue later.

I checked the printer lcd screen, scrolled through the menu and I do not see any Sleep mode.

More information - the printer keeps going offline continuously.  I restart the print spooler and it pops right back offline almost immediately.  I have to keep restarting the print spooler.
Here is a Microsoft Support article for clearing (emptying) the print spooler. You may need to do this as restarting does not clear the spooler. Look down to Option D.
