email scans

We use like most companies a scanner/copier to scan to email documents.  I was wondering why all of a sudden the scans are taking up to 20 minutes to reach the recipient?  We are not using exchange.  POP mail from a hosted company.

One possibility is that the hosting company for your POP mail has recently switched to a new service that purports to provide better protection against spam, viruses, phishing, and other threats that affect email. I have one POP email provider that switched to a horrible service called Cloudmark that has resulted in all of my POP emails from one domain being delayed in delivery by 20-23 minutes! It is completely unacceptable and is driving me crazy. I do not send out spam, phishing, or mass emails, so I have no clue why Cloudmark is delaying delivery of all my emails by 20+ minutes, but I recommend that you ask your POP mail provider if they're using Cloudmark, or a similar service. Regards, Joe

I presume that by accepting my post as the solution, you found out that your POP mail provider is, indeed, using a spam/virus/phish detection service. I'm curious if it is Cloudmark or something else. I'll appreciate hearing back from you on this. Thanks, Joe
