Spring Tuorial

I found this ...

In Spring 2.0 and later, the @Repository annotation is a marker for any class that fulfills the role or stereotype (also known as Data Access Object or DAO) of a repository. Among the uses of this marker is the automatic translation of exceptions.

I dont understand what  automatic translation of exceptions  means ?

Can anyone please provide an example. I find it confusing.

Thanks

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Spring wraps exceptions from your DAO layer into DataAccessException runtime exceptions.
So you don't have to worry about declaring them in the method signatures since they are runtime exceptions.
