Exchange 2010 Distribution group is empty in Outlook 2010

Hi Everyone,
I have a Universal Distribution Group in Exchange and it has several mail contacts as members.
These mail contacts are not email addresses from the company I work for. They are yahoo, gmail and other internet email addresses.
I can see the members of this distribution group on the exchange server, but in Outlook the group is empty

Are these contacts hidden from the Global Address Book?

Also are you using cached exchange mode?

Does this happen if you are using OWA?

Will.

Hi Will,
You pointed me in the right direction. The addresses were hidden from the GAL. Once I unhid the addresses, they appeared in Outlook's distribution group.

Is there a way to hid addresses from the GAL but still be able to send the members an email?
When you hide them from the GAL they can still receive email.

Will.
I would like to create an email group with members and their email addresses but I don't want their email address listed in the GAL. Is that possible?
Yes you can add mail contacts to a group when they are hidden. You need to do this from the EMC and not from Outlook because Outlook references the GAL.

Will.
Thank you!
