Crystal Reports - Suppressing a Field if Another Field is Suppressed

Crystal Reports 14
I have a report with 2 columns that are grouped. The first column is a description and the second column is a summary of quantities. I have the summary of quantities suppressed if the amount is 0 but I need to suppress the description column if the summary of quantities is suppressed.  Both columns are in the group header. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Just use the same formula to suppress the text.

I assume you did something like this to suppress the Qty column.

     {QtyField} = 0

The same will work for the description field

Since the Quantity Field is a calculated field, this option is not available tat I can see. I tried to use the field name "SumofQuantities" like:

SumofQuantities = 0

But this also did not work. The quantity field is suppressed by checking the "Suppress If Zero" check box. Thanks

What field is displayed?

Is it a summary field?
In that case it is in the field list.  The name starts with a SIGMA (looks like a big E).

If it is a summary then you can duplicate it as

Sum({QuantityField}, {GroupField}) = 0

Sum({QuantityField}, {GroupField}) = 0 Suppresses the field but leaves the row. Is there any way to collapse the row. Thanks

Is the row a full section?
If so use the SECTION EXPERT to either suppress in the same way or you can use the SUPPRESS BLANK SECTION.
