Can WDS (MDT), and WSUS harmoniously exist on the same server?

I have a WDS that lives on a VMware virtual box running Server 2008 R2 Standard.  MDT is version 2013 and functions as designed. PXE boot service is configured on this server too.  My dept. also has WSUS running on an old Windows 2003 server and wants to decommission that server since Microsoft is dropping support for 2003.  They have asked me if we can run the WSUS service on the WDS server.  I have searched & read what I could find here and on Technet blogs and here but cannot seem to find a definitive answer.  So I am reaching out here to see if anyone has done this or is currently running both of these services side by side on the same server.

These both are single function servers which do not see much use and it is unlikely we would ever need to run both WSUS and MDT simultaneously.

I appreciate your input.

Yep, Joseph is right. Got hundreds of servers on customer's sites running both concurrently. They don't run remotely similar services; WSUS is IIS (webserver) and SQL based and WDS is pretty much just a fancy tftp server.

Joe, Chris, thank you for the confirmation.  This is new territory for me and I have learned to tread carefully on MS's server platforms, especially when mixing and matching services like these.
