What do you mean? I don't understand I'm afraid. What is printer brand and type?

Did you try adding the printer through Printers from the Linux Mint menu?

You could also try installing the libprinterconf0c2a package through the Synaptic Package Manager.

And a printer driver like: printer-driver-hpijs

What is printer name and type? I don't know what 'old printer' means. Did you install the 2 packages I suggested?

That is not your typical printer, there is no info about which operating systems are supported.

But you can logon to their Technical Portal here: http://www.domino-printing.com/Global/en/AboutDomino/Company-Information.aspx
Technical information such as software updates, technical briefing notes and reference documents on each of Domino’s products.
I'm no customer of Domino so I cannot logon for you. Logon and let me know what you find.

Meanwhile, you can connect the printer through USB and use the lsusb command from a terminal and post output here. That will at least show whether the printer is connected/recognized on the hardware level.

once you connect it - what do you see in "lsusb" output and dmesg?
Is there any parallel or serial port emulated?
