post on facebook

I have a program that displays some information the user completed. I want to be able to give that user a link where they can click on it and will take them to facebook with a pre-formatted post and all they have to do is click post on the comment.

What is the easiest way to do this? Is there a URL + parms I can pass to facebook?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You need the assistance of a Facebook Developer.  If you're not a professional programmer, you should consider hiring a professional programmer because it will save you a lot of time, trouble and money.  But if you are a programmer and you want to learn about developing interfaces to Facebook, this link can help you get started.  There are a lot of paths to follow, and if this doesn't look exactly like what you want, make a Google search for "Share on Facebook" and you will find many alternatives.

Ray,

I have done this before but it has been a few years ago. I know I can figure it out and I will in time but I was asking for assistance. I was hoping somebody might have written an artical with step by steps.

I will keep this thread open and will post my research.

How, I have started researching using Facebook's PHP SDK so will post something about that after I get it working. Right now it requires php 5.4 so upgrading from 5.3 now.

I found the newer SDK a little trickey but I still had the older 3.0.1 SDK.

I made 1 change with the old SDK login post and it worked.

    $login_url = $facebook->getLoginUrl($params = array('scope' => "publish_stream","manage_pages","user_groups"));

change to:

    $login_url = $facebook->getLoginUrl($params = array('scope' => "publish_actions","manage_pages","user_groups"));

publish_stream was replaced with publish_actions
