A Mezzanine card is not a specific Cisco product but rather a name for a piece of technology used by several vendors, it's mostly used in compact systems to save space. (e.g. Blade Servers)

It is not much different than a regular PCI or PCIe card in a normal computer to add extra functionalities to it, expand the network or storage ports or add other special connectors to connect external devices.  The Mezzanine card is a horizontal circuit board and connects to specially crafted connectors on motherboards, so you could call it a daughterboard.

Regarding to Cisco, they use it in their UCS range of devices to expand the onboard functionalities, like add special network adapters and such, this one is just an example of that.
