What are the popular current Enterprise Firewalls being used today?

I would like to know what Firewalls are currently being used by corporations.  The environment I am interested in are corporations running Windows Server 2008r2 or 2012r2 and Exchange 2010 or 2013.  Also, how often do you have to upgrade or change Firewalls?  Thanks for your help

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are you talking about host based firewalls or network/perimeter firewalls? For host based, most companies just use whatever is bundled with their AV.

For network firewalls, I am seeing more and more companies gravitate towards Palo Alto Networks. Their increased marketshare and rapid revenue growth also speak to this.

Gartner has PAN and Check Point as the only firewalls in the leader's quadrant.

Cisco ASA is also a very popular option.  Palo Alto Network product is recommended if you have a need specific based on users, applications, or if you need QoS for applications.  These products are complicated and usually not required for general use.  Palo Alto is a leader in Next-Generation firewalls which are very pricey.
