"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi,

Here is the sample to code add the appointments to Outlook using VB.NET

Private Sub AddAppointment()
	Try
		Dim application As New Outlook.Application()

		Dim newAppointment As Outlook.AppointmentItem = DirectCast(application.CreateItem(Outlook.OlItemType.olAppointmentItem), Outlook.AppointmentItem)
		newAppointment.Start = DateTime.Now.AddHours(2)
		newAppointment.[End] = DateTime.Now.AddHours(3)

		newAppointment.Location = "ConferenceRoom #2345"
		newAppointment.Body = "We will discuss progress on the group project."

		newAppointment.AllDayEvent = False

		newAppointment.Subject = "Group Project"

   	       newAppointment.Recipients.Add("Email@yourcompanyName.com")
		Dim sentTo As Outlook.Recipients = newAppointment.Recipients

		Dim sentInvite As Outlook.Recipient = Nothing
		sentInvite = sentTo.Add("Tom@yourcompanyName.com")
		sentInvite.Type = CInt(Outlook.OlMeetingRecipientType.olRequired)

		sentInvite = sentTo.Add("Scott@yourcompanyName.com")
		sentInvite.Type = CInt(Outlook.OlMeetingRecipientType.olOptional)

		sentTo.ResolveAll()

		newAppointment.Save()
	Catch ex As Exception
		Response.Write("The following error occurred: " + ex.Message)
	End Try
End Sub
