SSIS Import speadsheet from one folder into SQL Server

Hello Experts Exchange
I have a folder called "Wip Calc Sheet" I want users to save there spreadssheets in this folder and I want to import the data on the worksheet call "Wip Calc Sheet".

How do I configure SSIS to be able to view the folder, pick up any file that is a XLSX file and import the data as long as it has a "Wip Calc Sheet"?

Couple of thoughts...

1.

Use a ForEach FIle Loop control to iterate through a folder, looking for all .xlsx files, then you can filter what is worked on by a specific name.

2.

If I'm understanding this correctly, users are entering data into an Excel doc, which you would like to build an SSIS package to connect to that data.  So ... YOU ARE PLAYING WITH FIRE.  Excel is a great tool for users to do anything, which means Excel is a terrible tool for use as an SSIS source as users can do anything to cause a mapped data flow to break.

Hello Jim
I have created a SSIS package with a foreach loop.

I have configured it for a file and called NEW Stock Status.xlsm, but this is not the name of the files that will be saved in the location they will have a date in the name.

When I delete the file from the folder location the SSIS Package does not run and has a error.  I have attached the error message.

How do I configure the package so that it will still work even when the file I have configured it for does not exist?

Hello
I had to set the property DelayValidation to True for the Data Flow Task.
