How to write each element of a vector into its own file using R

In R, I have a character vector my.vector with 100 elements.  I'd like to write each element into its own .txt file in a directory, creating 100 new files.  The files do not exist yet and the names of the new files are not important.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It is best done in a FOR loop with some random key as file name.
If names are not important - what will you do after with these files?

Thanks, I will try a for loop.  I will run a java program using the newly created text files as input.
You can call java directly from R on in-memory vector...
